Key Responsibilities
A Fire Watch is responsible for continuously monitoring hot work activities to ensure compliance with site safety regulations. The role includes inspecting work areas before, during, and after hot work operations, ensuring fire extinguishers and emergency equipment are readily available, identifying combustible materials, maintaining clear emergency access routes, and immediately reporting unsafe conditions to supervisors. Fire Watch personnel must remain alert throughout the assigned shift, respond quickly to emergencies, and help maintain a safe working environment for all personnel on site.
Skills and Knowledge
Applicants should have a good understanding of industrial safety practices and fire prevention procedures. Previous experience as a Fire Watch or in a construction or industrial environment is considered an advantage. Candidates should possess good observation skills, strong communication abilities, and the ability to react calmly during emergency situations.
